Are you looking for more talent? I would love to vend, perform, or provide a service!

Indeed we are! Please shoot us a message at info@vhsnewwaveweekend.com. If it's a good fit, we'll be in touch.

Is this exclusively New Wave?

Nope! But we will focus primarily on New Wave and Post Punk. The performing bands are heavily influenced by those genres. That said, we will be playing Wham at the pool party and yacht rock in the club, so there’ll be something for everybody.

Is this an all ages event?

Although we love cool kids of all ages, this is 21+ event.

So… will there be cover bands? How about actual bands from the ‘80s?

The live music we’re booking is heavily influenced by New Wave and Post Punk, but they definitely aren’t cover bands. Nor were they bands in the ‘80s.

Can I bring physical media to share?

Most def! VHS is a communal event and sharing is caring. Bring any VHS, cassette tapes, records, books, and/or NES Nintendo games you’d like to show and share. And don’t forget your 35mm camera or Polaroid!

How many people will be there?

We plan to have up to  1,000 party people ejecting reality with us for a weekend-long New Wave escapade.

Where can I eat and drink?

Food trucks and vendors will be ready to rock in the round-about of the hotel and at the car show throughout Friday and Saturday, serving up a variety of delicious plant-based eats. The Hilton also has a fabulous bar and restaurant as well as a coffee shop. Plus there are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores just a short walk from the hotel.

Please be aware that any food or beverages not provided by VHS vendors or the hotel must be consumed off premises.

Is it really all Vegan?

You’re not dreaming! All food trucks and vendors will be serving an entirely Vegan menu. The hotel restaurant and bar will also have some authentically 80’s Vegan menu items as well as their standard fare.

Can I come and go as I please?

Your wristband gives you access to all event spaces: the ballroom, rec rooms, the arcade, clubs, bars, the pool, and the car show. Anyone with a wristband can dip in and out as they please, capacity allowing.

Sober spaces?

While we won’t have dedicated sober spaces, we aim to create the most supportive and fun environment possible for everyone. Please let us know if you have ideas!

Where can I find the schedule of events?

We'll continuously be updating the "What's On" page so keep an eye on it! Your buds at check-in will also have copies for you. And we’ll have plenty of signage throughout the event so no need to be checking your devil phone all weekend.

Affinity groups?

VHS is a place for people who love the 80’s to connect and feel safe and supported. We’re building a community that will endure for years to come, and we’re super stoked you’ll be at the very first one. If you’re interested in a particular meet-up or would like to host one, let us know. Or check out the schedule as the event gets closer - we’re already working on some stuff!

Can I bring friends?

If they bought a ticket, of course! The venue has strict capacity limits, and we want everyone who joins us to have a supremely enjoyable experience. If we’re sold out, and you or your friends are looking for tickets, our ticketing platform TIX.com has resale capabilities built in that you can take advantage of.

Can I bring companion or service animals?

Yes! Your furry family is welcome to stay at the hotel. Just make sure to mention that you’ll be bringing them when you book your room (there’s a $100 nonrefundable fee). Companion animals cannot, however, attend the event. But make sure to put some New Order on in the room for them.

Only valid service animals are permitted at the event. Service animals must remain under the control of their handler at all times. Guests with service animals should be aware that the event will include crowds; loud music and amplified sound; outdoor conditions; food, debris, and other environmental hazards.

Handlers are responsible for determining whether their service animal can safely, comfortably, and effectively perform in this environment. A service animal may be required to leave the event if their handler doesn’t effectively control them; the animal is not housebroken; and/or the animal poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others based on behavior that cannot be reduced through reasonable measures.

Is VHS New Wave Weekend ADA accessible?

Yep! The Hilton Tucson East is wheelchair accessible and offers mobility-accessible room configurations. If you have any concerns, don't hesitate to shoot us an email at info@vhsnewwaveweekend.com

Is smoking allowed?

There are designated areas for smoking on the Hilton premises, but you’ll get fined if you smoke or vape anything in your room. Don’t do it, amigo.

Any prohibited items?

So glad you asked. Firearms are not allowed at VHS. Neither are items, including apparel, that exhibit, depict, or symbolize hate speech. We reserve the right to 86 anyone who brings these items to VHS New Wave Weekend.
